Feather Our Nest 2021: Moonlight at the Manor

On Friday evening October 1, 2021, the Friends of Briar Bush will host our 31st annual Feather Our Nest Gala (FON), Moonlight at the Manor at the Abington Art Center! Guests will enjoy an evening filled with friends, delightful food, cocktails, and unique entertainment under the night sky while directly supporting Briar Bush’s programs through auctions and more.

The Feather Our Nest Online Auction will precede the live event, allowing all community members to participate and have a chance to win a variety of items. All funds raised from the FON auction directly support the 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, Friends of Briar Bush (Federal Tax I.D. 23-7275154), and our mission to inspire people of all ages and backgrounds to celebrate nature.

Since 1974, the Friends of Briar Bush has been inspiring people to celebrate nature by welcoming everyone into our museum, bird observatory, pond, and trails. During the past year, support from individuals and businesses in our community has made all the difference as we transitioned to new programming that met the changing needs of the community. Some highlights include:
- Escape to Nature After School Program provides grade school students screen-free afternoons submersed in nature exploration and play with their peers
- Head Start and Pre-K Counts Into Nature went virtual, bringing environmental education to special needs and at-risk children throughout Montgomery County
- Streaming Nature and A Walk in the Woods offered enriching opportunities tailored for our adult community
- Homeschool Programs that met the curriculum needs of many parents as they took on a new role in their child(ren)’s education
- Development of a Scholarship Fund to provide program opportunities for everyone in our community
