Lady Bird Johnson dedicated the Mitchell Park Domes in 1965; what was called at the time "America's Most Unusual House of Flowers." Today, The Domes continues to support the equity and wellness goals of Milwaukee County by cultivating a lifelong love of nature for every visitor who passes through its doors.

Friends of the Domes is the support group that provides the cultural enrichment and educational activities on behalf of The Domes. Every dollar raised through efforts such as this auction help us to enhance the visitor experience. Core programs include school field trips, cultural events, volunteer and membership activities, and facility and plant collection enhancements.

The Friends of the Domes mission is to promote and support the Mitchell Park Horticultural Conservatory (The Domes) and surrounding park by creating and enhancing the visitor experience of this globally-significant urban destination.

The Friends of the Domes is a private nonprofit 501(c)(3) established in 1989. We directly channel resources that make possible the educational and cultural programs held at the Mitchell Park Horticultural Conservatory (The Domes). Our support complements, but is separate from the support provided by Milwaukee County.
