About Our Auction

Your Bid is the Bridge: From Our "Library on the Commons" to a Home of Our Own

You aren't just participating in an auction; you are investing in the soul of Waikoloa. For years, our Bookmobile—parked faithfully by the WVA pool—has served as our community's heart. Though its wheels may no longer turn, the stories inside it have traveled through the hands of thousands of neighbors, becoming a stationary sanctuary of aloha and learning.

But as our village grows, so does our dream. Our beloved "library on wheels" is ready to become a library of stone and spirit.

The dream is becoming a reality. With funding confirmed and the design phase underway, we are moving toward a permanent home. FL-WR will have a dedicated space within these new walls—a place where our stories can live forever.

When you bid tonight, you are funding a legacy:

  • The First Chapter: You provide "Baby’s First Book," welcoming every newborn at North Hawaii Community Hospital into a world of literacy.

  • The Spirit of Competition: You fund the Big Island Heluhelu Quiz Bowl, where our students represent Waikoloa in a statewide celebration of reading and excellence.

  • The Heart of the Village: You keep our Author Talks and History Presentations alive, fostering the "Talk Story" culture that makes our island home unique.

  • A Foundation for the Future: Every dollar raised is a "brick" in our new library. Your support ensures that the transition from our stationary Bookmobile to a modern community hub is a success.

Our Bookmobile has held us together for years. Your bid helps us build the walls that will hold us for generations.

Mahalo for being the foundation of our story.
