LGBTQ + Allies Best Dressed for The Trevor Project

Winning silent auction bidders and anyone wanting to show support can make a donation to the Trevor Project, a nonprofit organization founded in 1998 via https://emerson.yourcause.com/home#/fundraising/19135. The organization focuses on suicide prevention efforts among lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, and questioning youth. Through a toll-free telephone number, it operates The Trevor Lifeline, a confidential service that offers trained counselors. The Trevor Project has expanded digital crisis services to reach more young people (TrevorText & TrevorChat) and is working to train a record number of volunteers. Together, we can make sure that LGBTQ young people who need support nationwide know they are not alone.

The Pride Flag symbolizes pride for the LGBTQ+ community, and is a symbol of hope, belonging, community, and solidarity. Representing a bond between strangers who share little other than their identity as an LGBTQ+ individual. For many, the Pride Flag offers them the visibility they otherwise would not have. Its colors represent the immense diversity of the LGBTQ+ community and its allies. When we fly the Pride Flag at our locations and celebrate with Rainbow Day and this Best Dressed Product Auction, it says to our employees, the communities we live in and serve, and the world that Emerson supports all individuals regardless of their identities: LGBTQ+ or not. It reinforces our cause of Inclusion, Inclusive Employment Policies and Practices, and showcases our commitment to Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion – as all people are welcome under its colors.
