East End Community Chair Project Auction

Own a one-of-a-kind piece of Boulder public art while supporting Downtown Boulder's 50th Anniversary celebration.

For the last few years, the East End Community Chair Project brought local artists and the community together through a series of hand-painted Adirondack chairs displayed throughout Downtown Boulder. Created live on the sidewalks by talented local artists, each chair reflects the creativity, character, and spirit that make Boulder unique.

This special auction offers a rare opportunity to purchase one of these original works of public art. Some chairs are available individually, while others are being offered as paired pieces intended to be enjoyed together.

Please note that all chairs are being sold AS IS. As these pieces were displayed outdoors as public art installations, they have experienced normal wear from weather and public interaction. One chair is missing part of an armrest, and other chairs may show minor signs of use. These characteristics are part of each chair's history as a public art piece and are reflected in their current condition.

The chairs will be on display throughout the Pearl Street Arts Fest on the Courthouse Lawn, where you're invited to view them up close, learn about the artists, and even take a seat to experience them for yourself before placing your bid.

All proceeds from the auction will support Downtown Boulder's 50th Anniversary initiatives, helping us celebrate five decades of fostering a vibrant, connected, and creative downtown community.

The East End Community Chair Project is one of the many ways we celebrate Boulder's creative spirit. Each of the 9 Adirondack-style chairs in this auction was hand-painted by a local artist and displayed along Pearl Street's East End for the community to enjoy. Now, they're available to bring home. 

Every bid directly supports Downtown Boulder Community Initiatives programs; the public art, placemaking, and community events that make downtown Boulder a destination for residents and visitors alike.
