About Our Auction

The Emerson Center for Arts & Culture partnered with The Compassion Project two years ago to plan and showcase their large-scale community art installation and the Partner Artist exhibit in the Emerson's Gallery spaces. As the project grew, the installations extended beyond our gallery walls and into the hallways and stairwells of our 100+ year old schoolhouse. We are currently displaying 4,555 individually painted community tiles as well as 16 Partner Artist works through the end of June.
In an effort to support the Emerson and offset costs associated with The Compassion Project installations, these works are available for purchase via silent auction.
The Compassion Project (TCP), a non-partisan, non-religious organization and project, designed to bring the Bozeman community and the greater Gallatin County together through education and art. The project took place in and outside the schools and focused on compassion; what it means, how to recognize it, how to practice it, and why it is important. It is the hope that this will be expanded to other communities around Montana and beyond.
The Partner Artist program was designed to support and empower local artist in the Gallatin Valley by commissioning artwork that celebrates, honors, describes or envisions compassion as a quality or presence in our community.
