EB Awareness Week Art Auction 2019

This EB Awareness Week online art auction features two beautiful art pieces inspired by EB Patients, DEBRA Canada and the generous support of our EB community. These exquisite pieces were generously donated by emerging Canadian painter – Titö.

Titö is a contemporary painter. Experimenting with acrylic, oil and mixed-media materials on wood and canvas, Titö focuses on creating soulful paintings with a modern twist of current activities and social issues. His core practice is primarily inspired by movements from 19th and 20th century masters such as avant-garde, cubism, fauvism, abstract and post-expressionism. Here is your chance to purchase one of these two exclusive works of art to show your support for families affected by the rare and very painful genetic skin condition Epidermolysis Bullosa (EB). EB babies are born missing the protein collagen in the skin that acts as the "glue" that binds the upper and under layers of the skin. As a result, their skin is extremely fragile and will blister and shear off with slightest touch or friction.

Patients born with EB are known as "Butterfly Children", as their skin is as delicate as a butterflies wing.
