A Quadrennial Convention oversees election of international officers and provides oversight and guidance for strategic program goals. WMS-AMEC has had special consultative status with the United Nations since 1985 and meets annually with UN personnel to discuss pressing global issues; the society has supported the Campaign to End Fistula (a program administered by the United Nations Population Fund), along with governments and private foundation donors. WMS-AMEC's online Knowledge Center provides members with information about online classes and upcoming events, and the society also maintains a skills directory of available volunteers.
