About College Bound, Inc
College Bound offers a holistic approach to preparing 8th-12th-grade youth for college and fulfilling our mission of preparing public and public charter school students in the metropolitan D.C. area to enter college, earn a degree, and achieve their personal and professional goals. We focus on increasing the academic success of our students, differentiating us from other mentoring programs in the District, which solely emphasize social development. We recognize that academic preparation and mentoring are both needed to help close the college-going gap for underserved students. We achieve this by: (1) increasing student academic performance, (2) improving student performance on standardized tests, and (3) increasing student interest in and access to colleges/universities. Our strategy focuses on maintaining small-populated community-based programs so that we may offer students the personalized attention they need.
