Nanaimo Clippers Special Jersey

Get ready for an unforgettable night with the Nanaimo Clippers on March 14. 

It is Help Fill A Dream Night and the team will be wearing a specially designed jersey. The jersey was created in collaboration with 16-year-old Ava, a Nanaimo resident whose Disneyland Dream came true in the Fall of 2023. The jersey reflects Ava’s personal journey combined with the spirit of Nanaimo, blending creativity and hope into a one-of-a-kind design. Each jersey will be signed by the player.

All proceeds from the auction will support Help Fill A Dream programming.

Founded in 1986, Help Fill A Dream provides hope, help, and happiness to children under the age of 20 on Vancouver Island and the Gulf Islands who are facing life-threatening or critical medical conditions.

We achieve this by fulfilling children’s Dreams, improving their quality of life, and assisting their families with care and financial support. Family Assistance: A Lifeline for Families

Our Family Assistance program provides essential support from the moment a child is diagnosed, staying with the family for as long as needed. Whether it's helping to purchase medical equipment, covering the cost of medications or treatments, or simply providing a gas gift card for travel to medical appointments, we support children and their families in the ways that matter most. Even something as simple as a coffee card can give a parent a much-needed moment of respite during their child’s treatment. Our assistance is uniquely tailored to each child’s specific needs, ensuring that families receive meaningful and timely support.

Dreams: Bringing Hope and Joy

While Family Assistance represents survival for families, Dreams represent hope and reprieve. Many children we support through Family Assistance later become Dream recipients when the time is right for them. And just like our Family Assistance program, every Dream is uniquely designed for the child receiving it.

The impact of a Dream goes far beyond the experience itself. Dreams provide hope at a time when children need it most, which can have profound effects on their overall well-being and health outcomes. Studies have shown that emotional and psychological support plays a key role in recovery and resilience for children facing critical illnesses. When a child is given a Dream, fear is replaced with confidence, sadness with joy, and anxiety with hope—leading to both physical and emotional healing.
