About The Symphony Guild of Charlotte
Mission Statement
The purpose of The Symphony Guild of Charlotte, Inc. is to provide financial and volunteer support to the Charlotte Symphony Orchestra, and to further music appreciation and education.

Founded in 1950 as the Charlotte Symphony Women's Association, The Symphony Guild of Charlotte, Inc. has grown steadily in size, scope, and support to the Charlotte Symphony and the Charlotte Symphony Youth Orchestras. During this time, The Guild has initiated and sustained many award-winning youth music education projects.
Our goal is to create, develop, and promote an interest in symphonic music in Charlotte and the surrounding region and to promote financial and volunteer support to the Charlotte Symphony Orchestra.
Successful fundraising is one of The Guild's hallmarks. Youth music education programs include the Young Artists Competition and Musical Petting Zoo, which appears at the CSO's Family Concert Series as well as other venues in the region. The Guild also supports the Charlotte Symphony Youth Orchestras with their auditions, rehearsals, and concerts.
The Guild is a perennial awardee by the national League of American Orchestras and in 2021 won the Gold Award of Excellence for the Beat Beethoven 5K Virtual Race. The Guild also won a 2022 award from the Association of Major Symphony Orchestra Volunteers for the Music College Preparation Seminar Series.
The Guild has received the Gold Book Award for other fundraising programs over the past several years. In 2013, the organization was named The Best of the Best for its "consistently outstanding and creative endeavors" in governance, diversity, education, and community engagement. This marked the first time in its 50-year history that the League bestowed this tribute.
