 * – The Rotary Club of Cadillac is thrilled to announce the launch of Phase II of our ambitious community project aimed at revitalizing Cadillac’s iconic Diggins Hill. In collaboration with the City of Cadillac, this year’s plan includes the addition of a new pavilion and restrooms, enhancing the park's facilities for residents and visitors alike. Following the successful development of a children’s playground area, which will feature three different play structures, a swing set, and a climbing wall suitable for multiple age groups, this new phase promises to elevate the community experience at Diggins Hill. Groundbreaking for the playground area is scheduled for this spring. The addition of the pavilion and restrooms will not only provide essential amenities for families visiting the park but also serve as a gathering space for community events and activities. Diggins Hill has long been a cherished recreational area for the residents of Cadillac, offering scenic views and outdoor activities. The Rotary Club’s efforts are focused on ensuring that this beloved location remains a vibrant and accessible space for all. Construction for the pavilion and restrooms is slated to begin later this year, following the completion of the playground installation. We invite community members to follow the progress and join us in celebrating the official opening of the revamped Diggins Hill as we work together to create a welcoming environment for generations to come. Followed by our Zoom Watch Party Live Auction on May 10th, offering a unique and engaging way for community members and supporters to participate from the comfort of their own homes. The Zoom Watch Party will begin at 6PM, it is a fun opportunity for community members to come together, bid on exciting items, and support our project—all while enjoying a friends watch party from your home. The goal of the Rotary Club of Cadillac is to make the world a much better place and the focus is on those most in need where the most good can be done.  Rotary is a worldwide network of individuals who contribute to relevant social concerns to change lives for the better. Its mission is to do good in the world.  Its aim is to spread the field of service to the international level by putting money and talent to work for the best interests of humanity.  Its intent is to capture the true spirit of Rotary by advancing international understanding, goodwill, and peace through the improvement of health, the support of education, and the alleviation of poverty. 

International service projects include, as examples: medical care and equipment, water filters, wheelchairs, hunger, poverty, occupational training, clothing, disaster, and education. These projects focus on: preventing and resolving conflict while promoting peace; preventing and treating disease; providing clean water and sanitation; promoting maternal and child health (e.g., educate mothers, train medical personnel, provide health services); promoting basic education and literacy (build libraries and schools, student mentoring); and economic and community development to impoverished communities.
