CBD Purim 2019 Silent Auction

The Men’s and Women’s groups of Congregation Beth David in Saratoga are organizing a Silent Auction to support the Congregation and its community outreach activities. In the past, our outreach activities have included hosting a rotating shelter for the homeless, feeding the homeless, hosting a multi-faith Thanksgiving service, organizing local park clean ups, providing food and school supplies to the victims of the California wildfires and more. Our activities have been successful for many years thanks to our volunteer members and generous donations from local businesses.

Online bidding closes March 22 at 11am, then live bidding continues at the March 24th Purim Event until 1:15pm.

Bids can be placed on items either online or in person at the live event. Some items are available on a "buy it now" basis. If you are unable to attend the live event, online “proxy bids” (explained below) allow you to continue bidding up to a maximum amount set by you in advance, in your absence. At the conclusion of the live event the highest valid bid wins and winners will be promptly notified. Buyers are expected to pay for and pick up their items promptly.

Proxy Bidding Explained:

A proxy bid allows you to enter the maximum amount you are willing to spend and then lets the system bid for you up to that amount. For example, if an item is currently selling for $10 and you enter a proxy bid of $50, the system will automatically bid for you at listed increments when competing bids are placed until the selling price goes over $50. At that point, you will be outbid and someone else will be the leading bidder. On the day of the live event, one designated representative will enter proxy bids periodically since the online portion of the auction will be over. This representative will keep your maximum bid confidential. You will only owe the amount the system or representative has bid for you which will never be more than your maximum proxy bid amount. A proxy bid is a single bid and only shows up in the online bid history one time
