December Showcase Holiday Auction

The Cincinnati Boychoir is proud to present a Holiday Auction in conjunction with our December Showcase: Rhythm of Celebration. Featuring goods and services from many local businesses as well as unique gift baskets, proceeds from the Holiday Auction will support the Boychoir's general operating fund.

Our vision is to create an inclusive and welcoming environment for all boys to develop their individual potential and become outstanding artists and leaders, and this fund makes that possible by helping us reach as many boys in the Cincinnati region as possible.

The Holiday Auction will kick off on December 5th with the recording of our December Showcase: Rhythms of Celebration where we'll celebrate the holiday traditions of different cultures and communities through song, and culminate on December 19th when the pre-recorded event becomes available to the public.

With a mission to enhance and deepen every boy's creative expression, community engagement and cultural appreciation through the vocal arts, the Cincinnati Boychoir is one of the premiere boychoirs in the United States. Located in the urban arts core of Cincinnati at the Aronoff Center for the Arts, the Boychoir reaches approximately 200 young men each year from more than 90 schools in Ohio, Kentucky, and Indiana.

Founded in 1965, the Boychoir meets the needs of each boy who enters the program with a curriculum that teaches not just musical skills but self-discipline, intellectual curiosity, empathy, and a spirit of volunteerism.

Boys from grades 3-12 attend weekly rehearsals, and commit from 6 weeks to a full academic year. Each week, all boys come together for a combined rehearsal in which older boys are empowered as big brothers to younger boys, teaching them the nuts and bolts of music and singing, as well as how to tie their bowtie and more.

In a normal year, we present approximately twenty annual performances in the greater Cincinnati region, and have performed concerts and completed residencies both at home and abroad. In the midst of the Covid-19 pandemic, we limited our performances to either outside or in indoor spaces with high air exchange rates and large enough to remain socially distant, but we're happy to be back to in person rehearsals while maintaining safety precautions such as social distancing and masks to keep everyone safe and healthy.

We strive to make the Boychoir accessible to all boys, regardless of race, ethnicity, or socioeconomic need, so they all have the opportunity to experience the life changing impact of immersive arts participation.
