About Our Auction

The purpose of the auction is to raise money to support Conroe Art League's Student Awards Show on May 10, 2025, when selected Montgomery County, TX, high school seniors will receive financial awards based on artworks selected by a judge or judges. In 2024, $11,000 was awarded to selected student recipients. The fundraising goal for the 2025 auction is $12,000.

The artworks in the auction are originals that are created by Conroe Art League member artists.

The auction is a two-step process:
1. The online auction begins 11 a. m. Monday, January 6, 2025, and closes at 7 PM on Friday, January 31, 2025.
2. In January the art will not only remain visible online but will be physically displayed in the gallery through Friday, January 31. All bidding and payment, however, will remain online.

                      Other features of the auction

The artwork is arranged alphabetically by title. To search for a favorite artist, search by name by inserting the desired name in the search box. (Hint: enter a full name, and note that someone you know, for example, as "Bob", may be listed as "Robert".) You can also search by first name only, last name only, title, or panel number.

The opening bid on any artwork, except a Select 12 piece, is $35.00, and the minimum bid increment is $5.00.

The opening bid for a Select 12 piece is $100.00, and the minimum bid increment is also $5.00.

To see the Select 12, you may enter Select 12 in the Search box.

The cost of the shipping option is $19 per item.

MAJOR CHANGE IN THIS YEARS"S AUCTION: The "BUY NOW" feature has been discontinued. Bidding will continue until the auction ends. The highest bidder on any artwork, upon payment, receives the artwork.

THE PROXY FEATURE: A proxy bid allows you to enter the maximum amount you're willing to spend with the goal of winning the item at the lowest possible price. The system will bid for you, up to your maximum proxy bid amount, as additional bids are entered on the item.  Note that if you are not a proxy bidder, and you bid an amount equal to the amount that a proxy bidder has set, the proxy bidder will be considered the higher bidder.

DONATION OPTIONS: Whether you are the high bidder or not for any artwork, or even if you choose not to bid, the online bidding process allows for a "Donation", and you may show your appreciation for the artworks, the Conroe Art League, and provide financial support for the Student Show on May 10, 2025, by making an online donation.

A NEW EVENT IN 2025: BID PARTY!

Join us in the gallery on Friday, January 31, from 4 p. m.  to 7 p. m. when the auction will be featured live on the TV in the east gallery. Bring your lap top or mobile device, and you will be able to bid on your favorite pieces as you watch the bidding. If you are the highest bidder when the auction closes, you may pay and bring your newly purchased artwork home with you.

Refreshments and appetizers will be served.

If you prefer to remain in the cozy confines of your home to bid, you're welcome to do so, of course.  If you're the highest bidder at the close of the auction, you'll be notified and invoiced by 32Auctions. Once you pay, you may pick up your art in the gallery on Saturday, February 1, from 11 a. m.  to 4 p. m.
