Did you know....every 3 minutes, a child is diagnosed with cancer? Now, you can help in the fight against childhood cancer. Many community-minded organizations have teamed up to sponsor the ninth annual Brave the Shave campaign to help kids and families fighting childhood cancer!

Brave the Shave began as a local event in 2008 to benefit the St. Baldrick’s Foundation, the world’s largest volunteer-driven foundation for childhood cancer research. Since then, the campaign has seen more than 1,900 people shave their heads to become walking billboards for the cause while raising over $1.9 million. Nationally, more than 400,000 participants have shaved to honor children fighting cancer and raise funds for childhood cancer research.

The 2016 event benefits the St. Baldrick's Foundation, Brave the Shave Family Fund, Bismarck Cancer Center Foundation, Sanford Health - Pediatric Oncology, and CHI St. Alexius Health's NICU.

About Brave the Shave

Brave the Shave is the region’s largest fundraiser on a mission to fight childhood cancer through family support and research. Since 2008, nearly 3,500 volunteers have shaved their heads and raised more than $5 million for kids with cancer.

Brave the Shave believes all kids deserve a healthy, worry-free childhood which is why we are committed to supporting the full spectrum of their cancer journey by providing assistance to the families and supporting critical research. The funds raised for the 2018 campaign will benefit two organizations - the Brave the Shave Family Fund and the Andrew McDonough Be Positive (B+) Foundation.
