Big Band Swing Fundraiser

Hands in Service is jazzed to host what ought to be a swinging good time with Big Band tunes at Parkinson Recreation Centre on Sunday May 27th from 12:00PM - 7:00PM

You are invited to soak up the sounds and swing into dance with the musical talents at Big Band Swing, featuring Beyond Brass - Formerly the Kamloops Big Band, Dreamland Band, Lake Country Bid Band, Okanagan Valley Big Band, Penticton Thursday Night Jazz Band and South Okanagan Big Band.

Your Hands in Service support will help us buy a new mobile van to provide dental hygiene service to low income, health and mobility challenged clients who otherwise could not afford dental care.

This event is in support of the work of Hands in Service, an organization that provides caring volunteer assistance with basic housekeeping, laundry and simple food preparation to vulnerable people ages 19 – 65; with food security and referral assistance to all.

Restoring hope and dignity through tangible acts of kindness to health and mobility challenged individuals and families in the Okanagan.

Our mission is to provide free, compassionate in-home assistance, referral services, and access to food security for individuals with socio-economic, mobility, and health challenges.

Whether it’s delivering a food hamper or produce, preparing a meal, or vacuuming the carpet, the simplest tasks make a significant difference. Life can be moved from despair and pain to one of hope.

We often don’t realize how much even a brief moment together means to someone who is isolated, hurting, and alone.
