Banner Up! 2020

Join the Art Guild of the Delta for the 4th Annual Banner Up event! This popular program is sponsored by City of Brentwood Economic Development, City of Brentwood Arts Commission and Art Guild of the Delta (AGD).

The Ghostlight Theatre Ensemble has been selected as recipient of 50% of the auction proceeds. The other half of the auction proceeds will go to the artist's whose banners are sold.

Banner Up! provides local artists with the opportunity to create public art on 68 vinyl banners (2 foot wide by 4 foot high) that are hung throughout Brentwood’s beautiful downtown throughout the summer. The banner artists include students from local high schools (Liberty, Heritage, Dozier-Libbey Medical) and colleges (Los Medanos College) as well as other artists. The banners, all painted with original designs, add a bright and festive touch to the downtown streets (Oak, 1st, 2nd and Chestnut Streets) and City Park. There are an additional 3 banners that are on display in Delta Gallery in Brentwood (2485 Sand Creek Rd., Suite 128). The public will have ample opportunity to enjoy a wide variety of artwork created by their friends and neighbors.

You can bid on and purchase one of these beautiful banners using this online auction which runs through September 30th. The live Benefit Auction for the banners has been cancelled for this year. Don't miss out on getting your banner!

The final sale price for a banner will include the highest bid, the California state sales tax, and delivery costs (if applicable).

Pickup of banners is available from Delta Gallery in Brentwood (2485 Sand Creek Rd., Suite 128).

About Ghostlight Theatre Ensemble:

Ghostlight Theatre Ensemble was launched in March 2018, bringing together a seasoned team of performing artists, business leaders and educators all with the same mission – to entertain, educate and enrich their circle of local communities by offering diverse and quality theatrical experiences. The Ghostlight team was particularly interested in attracting top talent to its auditions, with the goal of motivating those from outside the immediate community to come out to the East County region to see the arts and culture of the area. Through its network of support developed with local government, businesses, schools and non-profit organizations, Ghostlight Theatre Ensemble engages community members in its mission, encouraging local talent, backstage personnel and others to create live theater that may be enjoyed on both sides of the lights.

Ghostlight Theatre Ensemble is a young company, but already its productions have impacted thousands of people who either attended their productions or were involved in putting them on. Ghostlight Theatre Ensemble also offers classes during the summer as part of their Performing Arts Youth Academy (PAYA) and Senior Performing Arts Academy (PASA) for age-55+ participants. Art Guild of the Delta is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization (EIN 82-2805677), founded in 2013 with the purpose of building a network of artists that work together to promote and inspire creative influences amongst themselves and their community.

Art Guild of the Delta brings together people with a mutual interest in the fine arts while promoting camaraderie and ethical principles and practices, as well as fostering creativity among artists. Art Guild of the Delta is of service to the community by providing a cohesive and congenial group who promote arts and advancement in all areas of artistic endeavors.

AGD has the following programs: (1)Local high school art scholarships, (2)Scholarships for Los Medanos College art students, (3)Banner Up!, (4)Art Walk during the Brentwood Farmer's Market, (5)Community Art Show at the Brentwood Community Center, (6)Oakley Library Art Exhibit, and (7)Delta Gallery Community Art Center.

Objectives of AGD include: networking and support, show opportunities, critique group, workshops and lectures, private scholarships to local art students.
