About Our Auction
August is Asian Elephant Awareness Month! This month is dedicated to raising awareness to the threats Asian Elephants face as well as celebrating this Endangered species.
Every member of our elephant herd contributed to these paintings and they are a part of the elephants training and enrichment activities at the zoo. Enrichment and training are very important aspects of animal care at the Rosamond Gifford Zoo to keep our animals physically and mentally stimulated and healthy!
Our Asian Elephant Month Auction is put on by the Rosamond Gifford Zoo's chapter of the American Association of Zoo Keepers. This is a professional group meant to advance excellence in the Zoo Keeping profession, make advancements in animal care and welfare as well as promote conservation of animal species throughout the world.
All proceeds from this auction will go directly towards saving elephants in the wild!
