There are large populations of impressionable girls ages 13-18 living in underserved neighbourhoods in Toronto. Art Starts’ Girls Mentorship programs aim to give these girls a safe space to connect, share and explore their potential in an environment where they can communicate honestly about issues that are important to them and develop leadership and life skills through artistic exploration. We aim to provide our girls with opportunities for empowerment, personal growth and healthy creative outlets for expression led by strong, responsive, caring female mentors.

Your auction bids will help us meet these goals and give girls in 5 under-resourced Toronto communities creative opportunities to succeed and flourish.

Each year, Art Starts programs benefit thousands of people living in marginalized Toronto neighbourhoods by providing a safe, supportive and inclusive environment for self-expression and creative collaboration.

We afford opportunities for vulnerable people of all ages to contribute to the creative ecology of their neighbourhoods, using the arts to help end the negative cycles associated with marginalization and poverty.

We nurture local talent, beautify public spaces, and provide safe, inclusive environments for self-expression and collaboration.
