Alex's Selection Virtual Wine Tasting

The purpose of our silent auction is to raise funds for the second family playroom at The James Cancer Hospital at the Ohio State University Medical Center and our TBD third family playroom location. This auction will provide funds to purchase games, puzzles, art supplies, home-like furniture, books, sports balls, craft supplies and electronics to help families create memories while battling cancer. The charity also sends activity bags and supplies to families separated by COVID restrictions.

The Sunnyside Playroom was created in honor of Dr. Alex Porter. We provide family-friendly playrooms in adult cancer hospitals within the United States. These playrooms provide a sanctuary where families can come together to play with toys, games, create memorable pieces of art together, read books, relax in an environment with murals that bring the OUTside IN, and watch child-friendly movies in comfortable furniture. To this date, there are no family playrooms in adult cancer hospitals in the United States available to young families with children impacted by cancer. There is an obvious gap in the needs of families impacted by cancer and their loved ones that we want to help. Our first playroom will open in Columbus, Ohio in 2021.
