About Our Auction
Created in memory of Clark Waldram of the Kansas City Zoo, whose passion for service and conservation continues to inspire us, this grant supports the essential facilities work behind impactful conservation efforts.
Born from a simple auction and a big idea, the fund has helped zoos and aquariums across the country by providing critical supplies, building materials, and hands‑on expertise.
Today, the grant continues that mission by empowering facilities professionals to make a lasting difference in conservation projects worldwide. A little support can go a long way especially when paired with our shared commitment to protecting wildlife and wild places.
Our most recent projects have included supporting the Punta San Juan Program and their need for constructing temporal housing and partnering with Oklahoma City Zoo Curator of Herpetology to aid in habitat restoration activities designed to protect, expand, and connect the habitats of the critically endangered Guatemalan Beaded Lizard and Campbells Alligator Lizard.
About Aquarium and Zoo Facilities Association
From the drawing board to the last coat of paint and beyond, we work to build better zoo and aquarium habitats for animals, and unique visiting experiences for people. And we do all that while maintaining sustainable practices.
Our members are architects, engineers, management personnel, tradespeople, animal keepers, grounds and housekeeping staff, and more. Though their professional paths may differ, our members all have a love of sharing their expertise, and learning from one another. The hope of AZFA is to build knowledge, grow our collective network, and push one another to continue to build the best habitats in the world.
