White Out Gallery

Midnight Sun Brewery, The White Out Gallery, ARTBID, and 19 very talented and generous Alaskan artists have come together to host this month long art show and auction, as a fundraiser for the Alaska Avalanche School. These partners want to raise $7000.00 to help fund the Know Before You Go youth education program and the Instructor Development program within AAS.

YOU CAN HELP TOO.
Alaska Avalanche School is a 501c3 non-profit with the mission of providing exceptional experience-based avalanche safety education to all users of the mountain environment. Know Before You Go is offered by AAS for free to Alaskan students in their schools. This basic avalanche awareness program reaches hundreds of students each year. It is essential for students who live in the most mountainous state in the country.

The Instructor Development program helps the dedicated core of Alaska Avalanche School teachers maintain and grow their professional level avalanche education skills.

About Alaska Avalanche School

The mission of the Alaska Avalanche School is to provide exceptional experience-based avalanche safety education to all users of the mountain environment.

The Alaska Avalanche School has been in existence since 1976, when it was founded by Doug Fesler as an avalanche safety center under the State of Alaska. Later, the school became known as the Alaska Mountain Safety Center, where Doug, along with Jill Fredston, began teaching avalanche safety courses. The Alaska Avalanche School has grown steadily in the four decades since its inception, and now a staff of 25 professional instructors reaches hundreds of students, both in the field and in the classroom, each winter season.
