We have a wonderful collection of out-of-print collector plates in exceptional condition, as well as many unframed vintage prints of Brittanys in action and at rest by some quite famous artists. But the complexity and cost of our mission is often not understood.
 
Brittanys come to us for many reasons. Some are found roaming the streets. Some are from shelters. Others are surrendered to ABR by their owner or abandoned because of their owner’s death. American Brittany Rescue pays for the veterinary care, training and/or behavior modification of all the dogs in our care.
The cost of these special services is astronomical and rising yearly. The single biggest expense category is veterinary services. Every Brittany in ABR foster care is brought to a veterinarian for evaluation. They all receive an exam, vaccinations, heartworm test and full dental if needed, and they are spayed/neutered. Some dogs need urgent care for life-threatening health issues like heartworm, tumors, orthopedic or soft tissue surgeries. We have only one source of funding for all of this-- our generous donors.

American Brittany Rescue, Inc. is a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit organization formed in 1991 as a cooperative effort of Brittany owners, breeders, trainers, and fanciers. Since it's formation, the organization has worked to rescue Brittanys and place them in loving homes. Incredibly, more than 9,000 dogs have been rescued and adopted into carefully selected homes.
