About Our Auction

Support 3rd Street by celebrating our 12th year of providing health care, strategic programming, and mental health support to the youth of Bayview Hunters Point. This year's annual fundraising event is focused on "Building a Community of Health & Equity."

Each year our 3rd Street Youth Center & Clinic’s circle of supporters rally to fundraise for many components integral to our services. This year, with your help, our organization aims to:

• Continue full-service health care services five afternoons per week including counseling, individual case management, group therapy sessions and on-going support in response to the above-average levels of bereavement, PTSD, depression and anxiety that are hallmarks of young lives subjected to the economic and social stressors commonly found in this community.

• Maintain our focus on a holistic, whole-person approach to health including our youth programs and activities, which are always in high demand.

• Expand our Health Core Program that serve as a pipeline for our older youth leading to potential careers in allied health professions to include environmental health, public health and mental health tracks. Students are enrolled in local colleges and placed in internships at prestigious hospitals, such as UCSF Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital and Trauma Center and Laguna Honda Hospital.

About 3rd Street Youth Center & Clinic

The 3rd Street Youth Center and Clinic is a community based agency providing youth in Bayview Hunters Point with medical and behavioral health services that encourage them to make decisions that support their health, safety and development.

3rd St started as a community needs assessment by a fiscally sponsored community group. Multiple agencies and parents met regularly to discuss what youth in the Bayview community needed. Their conclusion was that medical services, arts programming and mental health were the most lacking. In 2005 a building was renovated as a space (then called the Healing Arts Center) and a group of volunteers started to offer a summer program around health education and arts programming.
