Labor (Day) of Love 2026: August 28 – September 12, 2026 

There's a lot of love packed into this year's Labor Day auction. True to its name, this collection leans into the "labor" of love — handmade coats, hand-knit sweaters, hand-stitched pillow covers, hand-tied bow ties, original watercolor paintings, holiday ornaments and so much more, most crafted by our own volunteers with a greyhound (or two) curled up nearby while they worked. 

Alongside the handmade pieces, you'll find a curated mix of vintage and collectible treasures: a 1942 Associated Press wire photograph documenting the earliest days of the mechanical lure, a solid bronze sighthound figurine dated 1978, an Art Deco-era ceramic greyhound in a striking pink glaze, and a substantial Navajo (Diné) sterling and turquoise pendant. Original artwork ranges featuring two whimsical watercolor pieces bursting with garden blooms, plus a signed limited-edition print.

Rounding things out: cozy fleece coats and snoods for your own hound, seasonal collar accessories, bowl cozies, and a few just-for-fun pieces (yes, there's a Grogu bow tie). 

Every item here was donated with genuine care by GALT volunteers, supporters, and artists and every bid goes directly toward helping more greyhounds find their way home. Get a jump start on your holiday shopping while giving back to the hounds who need it most.

Greyhound Adoption League of Texas, Inc. (GALT) is a 501(c)3 non-profit corporation operating in the Dallas/Fort Worth metroplex, throughout Texas, New Mexico,  and the United States since May 2001. GALT has assisted more than 4000 greyhounds and other sighthounds in finding their forever homes. 

GALT depends solely on donations, fundraisers and net proceeds from its GreytStore.org for its operating budget of more than $325,000 this year for needs of the dogs in its possession. 

GALT takes a neutral stand on greyhound racing.
