The Show & The Cause
This show features a showcase painting from each of the 30 talented artists participating in LPAPA's 28th Annual Laguna Plein Air Painting Invitational. Each piece will be featured in the official published 2026 Invitational Catalog, and every auction winner receives a complimentary copy!
Proceeds from art sales support both the artists and the Laguna Plein Air Painters Association, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to preserving the plein air tradition.

After the auction ends, the Invitational Catalog Art Show will continue at the LPAPA Gallery with unsold artwork available for purchase, at the full gallery price, until Friday, October 1st, 2026, when available work will be exhibited at the Festival of Arts during our October 3rd and 4th opening weekend. The LPAPA Gallery is located on Gallery Row in Laguna Beach at 414 N. Coast Highway, between Jasmine and Myrtle Streets. Gallery hours are Thursday through Monday, 11:00 am to 5:00 pm, and by appointment, with modified hours 1:00 pm to 9:00 pm the First Thursday of each month.
About Laguna Plein Air Painters Association (LPAPA)
A Legacy Rooted in History
Laguna Beach was established as a world-renowned artists' colony in 1918 by plein air pioneers such as Edgar Payne, Frank Cuprien, and Anna Hills. These artists founded the original Laguna Beach Art Association, creating the gallery and permanent collection that evolved into today’s museum.
Continuing the Tradition
In 1996, five contemporary artists—Ken Auster, Jacobus Baas, Cynthia Britain, Saim Caglayan, and John Cosby—founded the Laguna Plein Air Painters Association (LPAPA) to ensure this century-old tradition would continue to thrive. Today, we support a global network of artists and provide the education and career opportunities necessary to sustain their livelihoods.
