Join us at Chantilly National Golf and Country Club, 14901 Braddock Rd, Centreville, VA 20120 for our annual golf tournament fundraising event that benefits the shelter pets at the Fairfax County Animal Shelter.

Our Captain's Choice event kicks off with registration and breakfast available at 9:00 a.m., followed by a putting contest at 10:30 a.m. and a shotgun start at 11:00 a.m. Senior Tees 60+. Breakfast provided and catered buffet dinner by Chantilly National Golf & Country Club, plus a silent auction and awards. There is also an opportunity to win a BMW X5, $250 gift certificate, BMW Driving School experience, and a putter.

Thus far in 2023, 4,022 pets made their way to the Fairfax County Animal Shelter. Some were strays, and other surrendered by their owners or confiscated by the county due to neglect or mistreatment.

With so many animals coming through the Shelter's doors and a limited budget, the Shelter has to make tough decisions about how it can provide for each animal. In some cases, this means that otherwise adoptable animals might not have a second chance if expensive medical treatments or special needs costs exceed the county budget.

This is where the Friends steps in. We raise awareness — and money — to help improve the quality of life for all of loving local shelter pets and give them a chance to find their forever home.

Through October 2023 Friends has provided $234,710 in funding to the Fairfax County Animal Shelter which represents about 20% of their opertaing budget. This included life-saving and life-improving medical care for 39 shelter pets; dental care for 50 pets; parasite prevention for all dogs, cats and rabbits - 3,109 pets, and TNR spay/neuter surgeries for 462 community cats. Friends also provided every adopted dog a collar, tag and leash, and every adopted cat a tag and collar.
