19 for Nineteen - 2026 Auction

 
This auction is raising funds for Anya's Wish. Anya’s Wish is a research project at the Children’s Cancer Institute in memory of Anya Zuber of Armidale NSW who passed away from osteosarcoma in 2020. The project has raised more than $1.1 million towards this research, which has had world-first research breakthroughs into safer treatments and better outcomes for young people diagnosed with this awful disease.

Osteosarcoma receives just 4% of global childhood cancer research funding. For a disease that strikes during adolescence and hasn't seen meaningful treatment advances in 40 years, that underfunding costs lives. Every dollar raised through Anya's Wish and the 19for19 Challenge addresses this gap directly. 

The research project has been able to develop innovative ways of growing osteosarcoma calls in the lab and to investigate novel drug treatments. Better treatments will not only mean more children survive, but also that survivors have a higher quality of life and avoid side effects.

Dr Emmy Fleuren leads Anya’s Wish research - “There is an absolute and unmet need to do something about these tumours and with Anya’s Wish we can do just that.” 

Tour de Rocks mission is to engage and inspire communities to raise awareness in relation to cancer prevention through healthy living, assist those battling the disease and raise funds for cancer research.

Tour de Rocks has raised over $3.2m for cancer research, awareness and prevention programs.

Tour de Rocks has partnered with the Children’s Cancer Institute Australia for the “19 for 19 Challenge – A Walk for Anya’s Wish”. The walk is in honour of Anya who passed away at the age of 19 from a high grade metastatic Osteosarcoma.

Through funds already raised, the Children's Cancer Institute has been able to develop innovative ways of growing osteosarcoma cells in the lab and to investigate novel drug treatments.
