WARMTH Art Show Silent Auction

Welcome to the WARMTH Art Show Silent Auction! For the first time ever, WARMTH is offering its silent auction items on line. Most of the art is on line now, and a few more pieces will be added today. The available pieces are shown below and are all produced by Southern Maryland artists or donated by generous Southern Maryland patrons. This year's theme is "Dwell in Possibility" (borrowed from the Emily Dickinson poem, "I Dwell in Possibility"). Our artists have done a wonderful job in capturing this theme with absolutely stunning pieces. Each item is donated by the artist or the patron, and every penny of the winning bid goes to Three Oaks Center to assist it in providing support to homeless men, women, and families in our community as well as those at risk of becoming homeless.

Here's how our auction works. The online auction began at midnight on November 30, 2014. You can review all of the available items below. If you wish to know more about the item, click on the item name, and you will see both a picture of the item and a description. If you want to bid once the auction starts, simply click on the item, and the system will ask for some very basic information (name, email address, and phone number), and you will then be able to enter a bid. The bid must be at least $5 higher than the previous bid. The system will email you if you have been outbid and will provide you a link to the site so you can bid again if you want to bid a higher amount. Additionally, you have a "proxy bid" option that allows you to set your maximum bid, and the system will bid for you until that maximum bid has been exceeded. Also, if you can't live without the piece, you can simply "Buy It Now" at the "Buy It Now" price shown for each item. It works just like other online auction sites you may have used.

So bid early and often -- it all goes to an absolutely wonderful cause.

On any given day in St. Mary's County, MD, 1,000 men, women, and children are homeless. You may not see them -- they live in cars, in the woods, in abandoned barns, and any place they can find a little shelter, a little warmth. They are often referred to as the invisible homeless, but the problem is real. What these members of the community need is a helping hand, and that's what Three Oaks Center provides. Since 1996, Three Oaks has helped homeless individuals and families by assisting them with housing, training, and additional services designed to support transition back into our community. Today, we are also providing critical services and support to Veterans and their families who are homeless or at risk of becoming homeless.

Three Oaks Center transforms lives and communities by providing proven permanent solutions to the homeless. Three Oaks Center provides permanent housing and comprehensive supportive services to individuals and families who are homeless or who have disabilities in order to initiate and promote greater independence. Our concept extends beyond basic shelter. We provide permanent housing combined with relevant levels of support services to help tenants stay housed and find the support they need to exceed in other areas of life.
