About Our Auction

Every fall during our Annual Local Foods Dinner, we have a Silent Auction featuring handmade and local items to raise money for our organization, Spiral Living Center. This year is no different, as all proceeds from this event will help us continue to offer free or low-cost programs in the Illinois Valley! Past programs have covered wildcrafting, natural building, food forests, permaculture, animal husbandry, tree grafting, gardening, off-grid power systems, and more. Our focus is promoting sustainable living skills to build confidence and empower our community.

Our current projects include the IV Gleaning Project, Takilma Tool & Book Library, and larger scale events such as Frog Farm Skillshare, Fix-it Fair, and the Spring Seed Swap. For the last 14 years, these offerings have thrived with the help of grants, donations, and generous volunteers. Your auction donations will directly contribute to helping us adapt some these programs in 2021 to a virtual setting-such a recording workshops, classes, and events. Thank you!!

About Spiral Living Center & KXCJLP

Spiral Living Center is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that has served the Illinois Valley of Southern Oregon since 2006. Our mission is to promote sustainable living skills by offering resources for our community to become more self-sufficient. We have developed and currently maintain a wide spectrum of community-reliance programs including the IV Gleaning Project, IV Bikespace, Resource Libraries, and our NEW Earth Scouts! Program. We also organize and execute hands-on educational events and large scale gatherings.

KXCJ is an FCC-licensed, volunteer-run, community-based FM radio station serving the city of Cave Junction, Oregon, and the surrounding Illinois River Valley. We provide listeners with a valuable source for news and information that addresses both local and regional interests. We also provide and produce music and other cultural programming that does not duplicate what is already available on the local airwaves. We train local people-- especially youth and elders-- to produce their own ongoing radio shows. We seek to increase the cultural and economic vitality of the Illinois Valley. www.kxcj.org.
