Starry Night 2022

Starry Night is the annual fundraiser for Nonnie Hood Parent Resource Center, now in its 16th year! Donations from this event help provide free programming and low-cost short-term childcare for all families in our area.
Our goal is to raise $37,000 in community support through this event including the online auction. You can support Starry Night virtually by bidding on great items that you and your family will enjoy!
Your donation supports:
• A drop-in play, socializing, and learning center for the whole family
• Free workshops and classes, including parent education, art and culture exploration, STEM development, and day camp
• Private supervised visitation for families to have a safe, home-like environment to spend time together during private hours
• Special support during COVID-19 pandemic: Parent education classes on self-care and resilience, outdoor programming like our parent-child "Juice & Paint" class, and more.
Thank you for your support!

About Nonnie Hood Parent Resource Center

The PRC is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization in Corning, NY that serves our community by providing resources and support to families with young children. We offer a drop-in center, parent education classes, camp and short term childcare, supervised visitation and more.

Our Story:
In the late '80s, local preschool teachers, including "Nonnie" Hood, helped open the first resource center in Corning in 1988 out of a desire to serve preschool children by supporting their whole family.

This first center was located on the second floor of the Corning-Painted Post School District Administration building on Charles Street in Painted Post. It later moved to Franklin Pierce Elementary School in Coopers Plains.

In 2001, the center became an independent 501 (c) 3 non profit organization, taking the name "Nonnie Hood Parent Resource Center" in honor of one of its original founders. At that time, the PRC moved to its current home in downtown Corning above the library, where its central location supports its vision of strong, happy families connected to their community.
