About Our Auction

On September 23, 2017 from 4 - 8 pm we invite you to join the Okanagan Symphony Orchestra and the Penticton Art Gallery for the 2nd annual Garden Party, “Music and Art with Shades of Brilliance”

It’s all about celebrating the presence of these two organizations in Penticton, and the contributions of people who love the arts – local visual artists, talented musicians and supporters of the arts in our community.

Local artists and members of the Okanagan Symphony will come together to showcase the world of music and art, through performances exhibiting various “shades of brilliance”: -- both figuratively and literally. The artists will create paintings inspired by the music they are hearing, which will be auctioned at the end of the evening. Proceeds will benefit the artists, as well as the Gallery and the Symphony.

The evening will engage all the senses. Guests will listen to music and experience the creative process of the artists, savour tasty bites and sample our local wines. An intriguing silent auction throughout the evening will also add to their enjoyment of the event.

Included in the silent auction will be several artful lampshades designed and constructed by local artists. These lamps are being constructed over the summer and will be on display leading up to the event.

Live painters: Jenny Long, Tovie Green, Alex Ross (DrawnAlex), Jessie Dunlop and Sanaz Busink.

Lampshade Artists: Bill Blair, Jeffrey Malcolm Sage, Cougar & Wolf Designs, Jan Little, Bethany Handfield, Tim Tweed, Penny Escott, Dianne Gibson, Kristine Lee, Carla Sutherland, Alexandra Goodall and Margot Stolz.
