Rotary Club of Tortola's Grand Affair 2016

The Rotary Club of Tortola presents our 12th Annual Grand Affair Dinner & Auction Gala, a fundraiser to build a New Youth Empowerment Centre in Purcell Estate, purchase of a special purpose vehicle with wheel chair access to assist the elderly and persons with special needs and also to purchase medical equipment for the Iris O’Neal Clinic in Virgin Gorda.

About Rotary Club of Tortola

The Rotary Club of Tortola was established on 5th January 1968 and is the oldest Rotary Club in the British Virgin Islands. The Club is a member of Rotary International, a worldwide organization of business and professional leaders that provides humanitarian service, encourages high ethical standards in all vocations, and helps build goodwill and peace in the world. There are currently about 102 club members that are professional men and women who work as volunteers to improve the quality of life in the British Virgin Islands and world community.

We at the Rotary Club of Tortola have over 10 years worked through our signature project the Grand Affair Dinner and Auction Fundraiser to raise funds for specific and general needs within our community. Some of the specific initiatives that we have supported are for the creation of a Youth Empowerment Centre, a teenage pregnancy prevention program called "Baby Think it Over" and partnering with the local hospital to improve health care. We purchase equipment for the Neo-Natal Intensive Care Unit of the Peebles Hospital. We progressed with our youth service initiatives and the purchase of special purpose vehicle for the Social Development Department, with wheel chair access to be used to transport seniors and persons with special needs and the purchase of medical equipment for the Virgin Gorda clinic.
