About Our Auction

Come spend an afternoon in the quaint countryside gardens of rural Laurel, Ontario. This event will be full of music, refreshments, lucky draws, bake sales and a display of fine quilts in support of Bethell Hospice. This inaugural event is being held in memory of the late Pam Neilly who was an avid quilter and member of the Dufferin Piece Makers Quilting Guild.

About the quilts being auctioned off:

At Pam's funeral, each person was handed a swath of fabric as they entered. Pam's brother told a wonderful story about how the people in the church represented such a wide and varied connection to Pam and her extended families....just like a quilt. The fabric was then collected and then a number of members from the guild spent many days creating quilts (5 of them in total) as a gesture of friendship and their love of quilting. Four of these quilts are being auctioned off online with the fifth one being reserved for a "live auction" at 1pm on the day of the event.

The auctioned quilts will be on display in the gardens as well as many of Pam's own creations and those of other members of the Quilting Guild.

Admission to the event is free but donations would be graciously accepted. Any donation over the amount of $20 shall receive a tax receipt from Bethell Hospice.

If you would like to contribute to the lucky draws, please contact us and we'd be happy to accommodate you.
