NMAI's 15th Anniversary Benefit Auction

The National Museum of American Illustration will celebrate its 15th Anniversary with a Gala and Benefit Auction at the Museum's home in Newport, RI, on July 30, 2015. All proceeds from this Auction will go to the NMAI's Endowment Fund to allow the Museum to remain open to the public in perpetuity. The NMAI works to fulfill its mission to share the greatest collection of American Illustration art with a global audience.

The NMAI is an IRS Approved 501(c)3 organization, and relies on the generosity of donors and supporters.

The National Museum of American Illustration (NMAI) is a nonprofit independent, educational, and aesthetic organization. Located on Bellevue Avenue at Vernon Court (1898), designed by architects Carrére & Hastings, it is a Beaux-Arts adaptation of an early 18th century French chateau. It is the first national museum devoted exclusively to illustration art.

Illustration is the original art created to be reproduced in books, periodicals, art prints, and advertisements. ‘Golden Age’ paintings by Norman Rockwell, Parrish, Leyendecker, Wyeth, and 150 other luminary illustrators are displayed in ‘Gilded Age’ architecture, creating a unique union of art and architecture- a national treasure.

July 2015 marks the 15th anniversary of the NMAI opening its doors to the public. In celebration of this occasion, the Museum is hosting a Gala event, including the special presentation of the American Civilization Awards, honoring three Laureates for their contributions to Popular American Culture, and this benefit auction to support the NMAI. Proceeds from this sale will benefit the Museum's Endowment Fund.

The National Museum of American Illustration's 15th Anniversary Benefit Auction will conclude at the Gala hosted at Vernon Court, the Museum's home, in Newport, Rhode Island, on July 30th, 2015. The Gala begins at 6pm, and items will be available for silent bidding. At approximately 9:30pm, the top lots will be sold by an auctioneer. Bidding on all other lots will conclude at Midnight on July 30th.
