Ron is Going To Rolex!

Ron is on the Road to Rolex! Support our auction to raise funds to send S.V.R. Ron by air instead of by land so he can reach Lexington, Kentucky in the best possible condition to compete. Flying horses around the country is easy, but not cheap. A one way flight on H.E. Tex Sutton costs around $4,500. It is such a great way for the horses to travel, as they are delivered to Ontario, CA at O'Dark Thirty and walk straight on to a converted 737 that holds 18 horses, similar to the set up on one of the large commercial horse vans. This time of year, with the Derby coming up, we typically will be on the same flight as some of the Derby horses. About 4 hours from takeoff, there we are in Lexington, Kentucky, fresh as daisies. Or maybe roses ;)!

At 15 years old, S.V.R. Ron has been building to this moment over his career. This horse never ceases to amaze me with his huge heart and willingness to try and his desire to get the job done. His dressage foundation is taking hold and is ready to blossom and the partnership and communication in the cross country and show jumping keeps getting stronger. I have explored and experimented with several traditional and non-traditional therapy methods to get Ron feeling the fittest and best in his life and ready to tackle his first Four Star. We are ready to take this on, so let's get him there is great shape!

Gold Medal Equestrian supports individual Olympic Silver Medalist, Gina Miles. Gina Miles competes in Three Day Eventing and has earned a Team Gold Medal at the 2007 Pan American Games in addition to Olympic Silver. Gina is making a bid to represent the United States again at the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro.
