Best of Maine Online Auction

The Best of Maine Online Auction includes 20 specialty items reflecting the best of Maine products, services, experiences, excursions, artwork, and more. Proceeds from the auction will support the education and public programs at the Maine Historical Society. Auction runs from August 15-September 15, 2014. Maine Historical Society is the third oldest state historical society in the nation, incorporated in 1822, just after Maine achieved statehood. The Brown Library is a state-of-the-art facility housing the largest and most comprehensive collection of materials related to Maine history in the state. The MHS Museum includes thousands of precious objects, including perhaps the most important artifact of them all: the 1786 Wadsworth-Longfellow House, the boyhood home of poet Henry Wadsworth Longfellow, fully restored and furnished with family heirlooms. The MHS mission is to bring history to life, making it meaningful, accessible, and relevant for people of all ages.
