The Teresa Group advances the dignity and well-being of children and families affected by HIV and AIDS. As one of the few organizations in North America – and the only organization in Ontario – providing HIV support focused on children and families, we have built a solid reputation over the last 27 years, offering a broad and comprehensive range of care and support programs for approximately 700 children of all ages in the GTA and across Ontario.

Though HIV has been around for over 30 years, little has changed with regard to the stigma and discrimination associated with the disease. At The Teresa Group, families find a safe space where they connect with a peer network to ensure that they are not alone and can reach out to others who ‘get it’. Our team of social workers offers a comprehensive array of mental health supports, responding to issues of stigma, isolation, self-esteem and stress. To ease the impact of the poverty many of our clients face, we provide a broad range of practical supports, including; diapers, newborn supplies, emergency food supplies, grocery cards, transit tokens, new and gently used clothing.
