Gracie's Gowns May Auction

Gracie's Gowns is hosting an auction to raise funds to continue their mission of making personalized, fun and unique hospital gowns for children with chronic and life-threatening illnesses.

Proceeds from the auction will be used to support the programs Gracie's Gowns has in place. Items have been donated by supporters of Gracie's Gowns and even a few from families that have received a gown from Gracie's Gowns.

Gracie’s Gowns is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing comfort and hope to children battling cancer and other life-threatening conditions that require frequent hospitalizations. We provide personalized hospital gowns to each child that we receive a request for. The gowns are made of fabrics specially catered to the child’s individual interests and are further personalized with his or her name embroidered on them. Every gown is unique and designed to help the child cope with an illness that they have no control over, to provide comfort in a situation that can be frightening and painful, and to remind the child and their family in their time of need that there is hope and people who care.

Gracie’s Gowns was started as a community service project in March of 2012, as a way to help chronically ill children get through another day of treatments by bringing a smile to their faces. Since that time, we have had an overwhelming response and to date have completed 1357 gowns that were shipped to all fifty of the US states and eight other countries. All gowns are provided at NO COST to their families. The gowns are requested for specific children, as well as are donated directly to pediatric units at various hospitals. The cost of each gown is approximately $20, and on any given day we have over 100 gown requests on the list. Every donation we receive is another child that we can give comfort and security to in a stressful and sometimes emergency situation.

Your generous donation can make a direct impact in the life of a child with a chronic and life threatening disease. In addition to gowns, we are looking to expand our outreach to include a program for the siblings of the children that gowns are requested for and a program for the families of children that have passed away. None of this is possible without the funding in place to go forward. Each donation, whether monetary or in kind, will change the life of a child and bring comfort to a family in their greatest time of need.
