Live Event Information

The 7th annual Cunniff Comedy Night and Silent Auction takes place Saturday, April 5 at 7pm at Post 440 in Newton. The evening features local comedians Dave Lamb, Al Park, Dan Crohn and Andy Dawson — a rare opportunity to enjoy world-class laughs from award-winning comedians without driving into town. Also included — appetizers and desserts donated by Sensational Foods of Watertown and the opportunity to bid on unique and useful silent auction items — from gift certificates to local shops and restaurants to overnight adventures, Red Sox tickets and the opportunity to attend a Patriots game with a former NFL player.

Last year's event (combined with our online auction) raised over $7,000 and funds were put to work to provide much-needed classroom support and educational supplements such as supplies, admission and bus fees for classroom field trips, school social activities, classroom enrichment programs and much more that are not covered in the current school budget.

In particular, this year the Cunniff PTO's fundraising is supporting the after school homework club, Math Olympiad, the school's community service program, library books focused on kindness and caring, and small white boards and markers for use during math practice. And most importantly, these funds help cover costs for classroom coverage to keep the Tier Time initiative running smoothly — giving teachers the essential planning time to appropriately assign groups and material for small groups of students with similar skills to build greater phonemic awareness, phonics, vocabulary, fluency and comprehension.

Please join us at the live event and help the Cunniff continue to offer unique ways of enhancing and supporting learning — Saturday, April 5, 7pm at the American Legion Post 440 located at 295 California Street, Newton, MA. This event is intended just for adults. Along with appetizers and desserts donated by Sensational Foods in Watertown there is a cash bar.

Tickets are $10 in advance and $15 at the door. Reserve in advance by emailing cunniffpto@gmail.com or calling 617-319-6021. The online auction closes at noon on April 4.
