About Our Auction

The Captain John Palliser Parents Association and our community have been fundraising to build our Inclusive and Naturalized Playground Project for the last three years. The playground will ignite adventure and inspire imagination while the adjacent Discovery Gardens provides quiet reflection to explore and deepen connections with the land.

We have raised 95% of the funds required for this project with the generous support of our community. With your help, we can get to the finish line and bring this vision to fruition this fall! Funds raised will also support future phases of this project and maintenance of the Discovery Garden as it will be an evolving space full of growth and learning.

In so many ways our playground and Discovery Garden are the heart of our school community. The combined space will encourage children of all abilities and interests to play together throughout the day, families to linger and chat before and after school, and create a gathering place for our greater community. Our hope is to create a vibrant outdoor space that meets the needs of our school families and community for many years to come.

Check out our Instagram Silent Auction Highlights @CJPParents that feature many of the auction items. More added daily!

*** IMPORTANT ***
Should we not be able to contact a winning bider within 72 hours of the auction closing this person will forfeit their item. We will then offer this item to the next highest bidder and so on until a winner can be contacted.

About Captain John Palliser Parents Association

The Captain John Palliser Parents Association is incorporated under the Societies Act for the purpose of raising funds to enhance learning at Captain John Palliser School (CJP). Our current priority is to support enrichment of children’s school experience through the development of an inclusive playground and naturalized play and learning space. CJP offers a community program and Montessori alternative program, both under the Calgary Board of Education. They also support students with visual impairments and learning disabilities. Over 530 students attend CJP representing a broad spectrum of neuro-physically diverse abilities.

The current playground at CJP is over 20 years old and is nearing the end of its usable life. It’s showing its wear over many years of joyful play and is proving to be insufficient and inaccessible for our large and diverse student population and surrounding community members. The Discovery Gardens, a naturalized space adjacent to the playground, needs revitalization and will expand learn and play opportunities by creating a quiet space to reflect, gather, explore and deepen connections with the land.
