LEGACY

Legacy is an intricate life-size carving available for purchase from September 14th until September 25th, 2017 via on-line auction. Legacy is the last piece of artwork to be created by W.G. Sutter, a renowned artist from Trappe, Maryland, who created the carving to benefit CASA of the Mid-Shore. Legacy was not yet completed at Sutter’s untimely passing in October, 2016. Master Carver Glenn A. McMurdo, of Cobourg, ON, Canada, completed this lovely work of art in the style and design of the late W.G. Sutter.

CASA of the Mid-Shore is a private, non-profit organization created to advocate for children who are under the protection of the circuit court because of abuse, neglect, abandonment or their parents' inability to care for them. Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASAs) are officers of the court and, as such, are ordered to make assessments and recommendations to the judge regarding the best interest of the child to whom they are appointed. CASAs attempt to identify the specific needs of each child for the court, advocate for service provision to meet those needs, and assist in seeking a permanent resolution for each child’s life as quickly and safely as possible.
