About Our Auction

Each year NOLOSE holds a national conference for fat folks to come together, skillshare, learn and become more engaged in the work of body justice. This year’s conference will take place September 4-6 in Oakland, California. In order to make a concerted effort to build a body justice movement that centers Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC), all events on Friday will be specifically created by and for our BIPOC community to be able to speak openly and freely about the experience of being a Fat and Queer Person of Color without having to break down concepts of racism or privilege.

Funds raised go towards space rental, equipment rental, food, ADA access (such as American Sign Language Interpreters), and other logistical costs. NOLOSE is a volunteer-run organization, and events are run by unpaid volunteers. 100% of funds raised from your donation will go towards supporting BIPOC Day.

We celebrate our whole selves, build supportive community, work on building strong intersectional justice movements that acknowledge all of our humanity and importance, and bring together fat liberation activists, racial and economic justice workers, fatshionistas, fat studies scholars, culture-makers, food justice innovators, body positive bloggers, BBW/BHM party planners, flabulous performers, plus size business owners, and you!

Please note: Any amount over retail value of item can be considered a donation to NOLOSE and is a tax deductible donation. A letter will be sent for tax purposes noting this at close of auction.

About NOLOSE

Nolose organizes regular national conferences and supports and funds regional programming to bring together members of all of our diverse fat LGBT, queer, same gender loving, trans, and sex positive communities.

Nolose community members hold fundraisers to cover the costs of running conferences and our need-based financial aid program, People of Color Travel and Lodging Fund, and scholarships for people of color and superfat, trans, and disabled people. We also participate in community-wide conversations to shape the future of the organization and define the kinds of social movements we want to build, participate in committees to run the conference and the nonprofit organization, do outreach, and create vibrant fat queer culture everywhere!
