12 Days of Giving

This online auction is Big Brothers Big Sisters of Guelph year end fundraiser. We have a goal to raise $3,000.00 from December 4-15. Proceeds support the 600+ children and youth we serve in our community. Donations towards our auction helps our team maintain and manage existing matches and of course recruit and train new volunteers for new potential matches - taking children off our wait list.

Big Brothers Big Sisters of Guelph started a movement in Guelph Ontario in 1967. We have been empowering children and youth for 50 years by providing them with mentors.

Big Brothers Big Sisters offers a wide range of mentoring opportunities to meet the varied needs of volunteers, children and families.

Serving as role models, our mentors teach by example the importance of giving and giving back, of staying in school, and for having respect for family, peers and community

Each time we pair a child with a mentor or introduce a group of students to a group program, we start something.

Whether it’s in the form of time or money there is no more important investment we as individuals can make than in helping our nation’s children realize – and share – their full potential.

2019 has been a year unlike any other in our Big Brothers Big Sisters family. Driven by our national organization and a host of other partners and experts, Big Brothers Big Sisters across Canada today are unveiling a new brand, along with a new mission, vision and theory of change. We are modernizing the mentoring landscape in Guelph and across Canada, with a focus on youth-centric language, and with a sustained focused on the importance of forging developmental relationships. This language will resonate with volunteers, donors, families and volunteers, as together we strive to be BIGGER TOGETHER.

Gone are our trademark purple colours and the graphical sprites that have been featured in our brand for many years. Today, we’re presenting teal, connected pathways to success, and a renewed focus on the three core groups that drive our mentoring relationships: the child, the volunteer and the organization.

Our new vision is ambitious, yet perfectly captures what Big Brothers Big Sisters is, and aims to be in the years to come. Our vision is that all young people realize their full potential. Our new mission incorporates energetic and impactful language, that once again is centred around working towards our youth becoming all that they can be. Our new mission is to enable life-changing mentoring relationships to ignite the power and potential of young people.

Today we serve over 700 children in the community. We are proud of our achievements and continue to strive to be on the leading edge of the Big Brothers Big Sisters movement in Canada.
