About Our Auction

AUSTIN ANGELFISH, Austin's only competitive synchronized swimming team, is hosting a silent/online auction that will be closed at the end of our annual WATERSHOW. The auction items include gift certificates from locally well-known restaurants and services, such as Kome, Uchi/Uchiko, etc.

WHY AUCTION ???

Each member of the Austin Angelfish pays monthly fees, but fees only cover part of our expenses. Think of the costs associated with dance costumes and a traveling sports team – combined. Our practices require a dedicated deep-water pool that we must rent, several times per week. Our swimmers practice year round, and travel to compete in meets across Texas and around the US.

We are becoming stronger each year. Our team just competed at our Regional Championships in Dallas, this past weekend. At this competition, twenty two of our athletes qualified to compete at the National Junior Olympic Championships! Nationals will be held near the end of June in Greensboro, NC. We are so proud of the girls' accomplishments, but it becomes a financial challenge as well. Our team is led by experienced coaches who volunteer as much as 25 hours of their time each week. The team is raising money to at least cover travel expenses for these dedicated coaches, but we would like to raise money to help defray some of the travel costs for the swimmers, as well. Money raised through the auction and through tax deductible donations can help us achieve this goal.

NOTES ABOUT THE AUCTION

- Be Ready!
You will need a free "32 auction" account to bid. Please DO NOT wait until the last moment to create an account. Once you create an account from the auction link, you will receive an email from the site and you will need to confirm. It might take a few minutes to complete, so be ready!

- What Is "Proxy Bid"?
It is your MAXIMUM bid (the highest you are willing to pay). The system will automatically bid for you up to this amount. This does not mean that you will always pay the maximum amount. For example, the current highest bid for an item is $5 and the increment is $1. You are willing to pay up to $10, so you bid $10 using "Proxy Bid". This will raise the current bid to $6. Then, someone comes in and bids $7. Since you use "Proxy Bid", the system automatically bids $8 for you. If there is no one else to bid, you will win the item for $8.

- Item Pick Up or Shipping
Items can be picked up at Watershow held on May 9, 2015 at Townlake YMCA. If you cannot be at the show and need to make a special arrangement or to have the item shipped, please contact our Auction Organizer (angelfish.fundraising@gmail.com). Items (except LUNA bag) may be shipped at no cost via regular USPS mail without insurance. Payment must be fully made before the item is handed or shipped to the winner.

- Payment Options
The payment can be made by cash at the site or via our donation site (https://commitchange.com/nonprofits/3878/donate). The donation site accepts credit card.
