About Our Auction

What is TYDTWDay? First celebrated in 1999, Pet Sitters International's Take Your Dog To Work Day® (TYDTWDay®) was created to celebrate the great companions dogs make and to encourage their adoption from humane societies, animal shelters and breed rescue clubs. This annual event asks pet lovers to celebrate the humane-canine bond and promote pet adoption by encouraging their employers to support TYDTWDay. Employers are encouraged to open their workplace to employees' four-legged friends on this one special day.

About Animal Placement Bureau

Who we are -
The Animal Placement Bureau is a volunteer foster care network with no paid staff and no sheltering facility. All of the dogs in our care live with our volunteers and become as much a part of their family as their own dogs.

All donations are tax deductible!
APB is recognized federally as a 501(c) (3) non-profit organization whose primary goal is to place homeless dogs into loving, lifelong homes.

Note: this does not include adoption fees - please consult your tax advisor for details that fit your situation.

Expenses -
APB is funded solely by private donations and fundraisers and does not receive any state, local, or federal funding. Our major expenses are the result of the extensive medical care we provide for each dog in our care including wormings, vaccinations, and spay/neuter surgeries.

Foster Care -
Foster parents are always being sought by APB. A nurturing environment is as vital to our dogs as the medical care they receive. Many of our dogs have endured a lifetime of abuse or neglect, and the personal care they receive in foster homes is crucial to their ability to be placed successfully into a permanent home. An invaluable understanding of each dog's behavior and personality is gained in foster homes, an advantage that sheltered agencies can't provide.

APB is a no-kill animal welfare agency -
There is no time limit on our foster care system. When asked, "What happens if your dogs don't get adopted?" we are proud to be able to say, "They come back home with us until we find just the right home for them -- NO MATTER HOW LONG IT TAKES."

Adoption from APB -
If you are interested in adopting a dog from us, call 517.346.4505, view our dogs online, or Email us at info@apbpets.com

Each prospective adopter is required to complete an application, and if approved, will then proceed to an extensive, legally-binding contract. A donation is required at the time of adoption to help off-set APB's costs.
