About Our Auction

We are back!

It's so exciting to be hosting another online auction for The Adam Fanaki Brain Fund to raise money for the brain tumour community.

Last year, as the pandemic had us all on lockdown and socially distanced, we tried something different as a fundraiser and it was a big success. Small businesses and generous individuals offered items for a virtual auction and it worked.

We raised over $15,000 in our first online auction and over $145,000 in all of our fundraising efforts in 2020. Our goal is to raise even more this year.

The mission of The Adam Fanaki Brain Fund is to help the charities that provide programs and services to brain tumour patients and their caregivers.

With the fabulous array of items up for bids this year we know that we'll have another successful event.

A big thank you goes out to the businesses and individuals in the Greater Toronto Area who have donated to our cause. Without you and your generosity, our FUNdraiser would not happen.

Beauty products, home decor, fine wine and spirits, children's activities, floral arrangements and art - there is something here for everyone.

Enjoy scanning the items we have collected for you and bidding on them too. Please help us spread the word by telling your friends and family about this special event too.

Our fantastic committee of volunteers has been working hard to make this event a success: Lisa Fanaki, Lesia Petruck, Becky Akman, Isobel Fanaki, Sam Fanaki and Janet Fanaki.

Payment for auction items is securely processed through PayPal and monetary donations through Charitable Impact.

At this time, items can only be delivered to winners within the Greater Toronto Area. Gift certificates and virtual items will happily be mailed to recipients.

If you would like to support The Adam Fanaki Brain Fund with a monetary donation, please click the green DONATE button in the top right corner of your screen.

Thank you so much for your support and good luck!

Sincerely,

Janet, Isobel and Sam Fanaki

About The Adam Fanaki Brain Fund

The Adam Fanaki Brain Fund was established in February 2020 by Janet, Isobel and Sam Fanaki to honour a wonderful husband and dad.

The goal is to support the charities providing programs and services to people living with a brain tumour.

Adam Fanaki was one of Canada's brightest lawyers and all around terrific guy.

In 2016 at the age of 47, Adam was diagnosed with glioblastoma (GBM), the most aggressive form of brain cancer. He passed away three and half years later.

GBM is a terminal disease, affecting men and women ages 45 - 75 years old.

Thanks to our fundraising efforts, we have supported virtual programs at the Brain Tumour Foundation of Canada as well as the printing and distribution of their essential patient and caregiver handbooks.

In addition, the fund donated to the 3 Wishes program in the palliative unit at St. Michael's Hospital in Toronto as well as their Comfort Fund which offers items like medicine, food gift cards, eyeglasses and transportation costs to those facing financial challenges.

Our fundraising has also contributed to the establishment of a new technology being developed by Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre in Toronto and the BTF which will service those living across the country affected by a brain tumour.

We would like to take this opportunity to recognize some special organizations and individuals.

Our Lead Donor, Davies Ward Phillips & Vineberg LLP. As part of a 5 year partnership, DAVIES has committed to making our fundraising efforts a success.

BMO Private Wealth as well as Brian Facey and Julie Soloway for their generous involvement in being our Major Donors for 2 years now.

Finally, Manulife for their generous donation to the fund.

Thanks to the involvement of these Canadian business leaders as well as our individual donors, we look forward to continuing our fundraising efforts to help the brain tumour community.
