About Our Auction

Welcome to Bly.

Our audience immersion, performance experience, Haunted House based on Benjamin Britten's "The Turn of the Screw" will be performed in an existing house, as opposed to a traditional theatre. Because of this, there will only be 30 tickets per show available for each of the 3 performances, totaling 90 people in Boston with the opportunity to see this production, over Halloween Weekend (October 30, 31, November 1.)

However, we are offering a unique opportunity for each of the top 5 donors to receive 5 tickets for the Wednesday (10/29) performance. Not only will you and your 4 closest friends or family members get a private viewing of the show, (before everyone else in Boston!) but after the performance, you will have an opportunity to have hot Apple Cider/coffee and fall refreshments with the cast and production staff, talk about the production and get a tour of the house with a picture with your favorite character/location.

NO OTHER GUESTS FOR THIS PRODUCTION WILL BE GIVEN THIS OPPORTUNITY.

In addition, your bid will not be paid through this website. All winning bids will be directed to donate directly to Fractured Atlas, which will issue a Tax Deduction for all funds over $100.

We look forward to inviting you to be a part of this production experience, and enjoying a privilege that not many will be offered!

If you unfortunately are unable to win one of these 5 tickets for this exclusive event, and you still would like to reserve tickets, for each $250 bid, you will receive one (1) reserved ticket to any performance night of your choice (including Halloween!). Until 30 tickets for each day have been claimed. If any ticket still remains by the end of the day on september 8th, it will be offered for sale in a first come, first served option on our website - operabrittenica.com and to our mailing list.

This is sure to be the most terrifying and disorienting operatic experience you will ever encounter, as you will not have the luxury of being an innocent spectator from the comfort of your seat. You will be walking through the house and have to determine whether the shadow from the candle that you see on the wall is just an innocent shadow, or a breath on your neck is just the wind.

You'll have to brave the dark to find out.

Welcome to Bly.

About Opera Brittenica

Opera Brittenica, led by Joshua Collier and David Sawicki, is Boston’s newest musical organization, devoted to exploring and performing the varied works of Benjamin Britten. The company’s mission is twofold: to significantly enrich the culture of musical performance that currently exists in Boston, and to provide the opportunity for local artists at the professional and pre-professional level to present the vast repertoire of Britten’s music to all of Boston and the surrounding communities, without the pretense associated with stereotypical "opera."
