About Our Auction

The items offered in this auction are all part of a collection that, in 2017, was very generously gifted to the Atlantic Salmon Museum in Doaktown, New Brunswick by the family of the late John Keith-King of Duncan, British Columbia. It is our intent to retain the pieces that relate to our own salmo salar; however (and with the express permission of the donors), we feel that those objects pertaining to the Steelhead, the Coho and other species native to western waters should more rightfully be made available to those who will appreciate them most.

Funds raised through this auction will allow the Museum to continue our programs and services, all of which help to promote the importance of the Atlantic salmon to our eastern rivers.

About Miramichi Salmon Museum Incorporated

Established in 1983 and located in the heart of “salmon country” on the main Southwest Miramichi River in central New Brunswick, the Museum features a stunning collection of over 5,000 artefacts, including original paintings, fly plates (many by the world-renowned William Cushner), rods, reels, salmon flies, and many other pieces of fishing memorabilia. We also offer a popular summer camp (Come Play on Our River) for children, as well as our Hall of Fame that celebrates the lives of outstanding anglers, guides, outfitters and, above all, those who work to preserve the legacy of the Atlantic salmon.
